Yes. St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, so you don't need a passport to go there.

Starting the beginning of 2007, you might or might not need a passport to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands - I'm not sure - but you definitely will need one to visit other countries for which it was never required before, like Mexico, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Bahamas, Trinidad, etc.
