We all have personalities, certain ways of thinking and actings. We all have value systems we try to live by and ideals about the world and so forth. Do you think yours are good for other people to have as well, or do they just work for you. Personally, I just try to do what works for me. I'm not a usual guy, so I don't think I can generalize.

Personally, I think that my "way of being" is absolutely wrong for most people. Likely, it is wrong for me as well, but it keeps me sane.

Hopefully, one day I can let go of the things that make me a "bad" person, and live a more social life.

I would definitely not want everyone else to have my exact views on everything; the world would be much more harmonious for sure, but it would be like living among the Borg.

I also wouldn't want everyone else to have my same personality. Diversity is the spice of life!

That said, I wouldn't mind seeing the world adopt some generalized versions of my beliefs. See if you agree:

* People should be judged by what's on the inside, not on artificial factors like race or nationality.
* No one should ever initiate force against another. Violence is acceptable only in defense, and even then only if there are no other feasable options. This applies to individuals and nations alike.
* Politicians are no better than the rest of us, and should be regarded as such.
* Freedom and security are not mutually exclusive, but when the choice comes down to one or the other, freedom is the better choice every time.
* A love of learning and a true understanding of what science & the scientific method are all about.
* Myths & superstitions are irrational notions that should never be taken on faith or as fact.
* Religion is both a mythos and a superstition.
* People should be free to live however they please, so long as they take personal responsibility for their actions; their actions do no harm to others; their actions do not cost others; and their actions do not restrict the freedoms of others to likewise live as they please.
* The concept of private property--including the right to use, trade, or dispose of that property as one sees fit--is sacrosanct. What's mine is mine, and what's yours is yours, no more, no less.
* And some other stuff; see link below.

In keeping with my desire for maximum freedom for all, however, I would not impose my beliefs on others by force, even if I had the power to and even though I thought the world might be better off. Because the world is never better off when one person forces his beliefs upon an unwilling other.

Great question. Personally, i even wouldn't advice my way to the ''me - 10 days ago'' bcs i believe in self-development and constant change. If I would stay the same with same ideals and values, i really would doubt that they are correct since finding them could not be that easy. Therefore i don't assert that my way is good for others since they do not have the same experiences and genes i have.
this is like a multi-stairway. i am on the 19. step of a carmen-red stairway and my way wouldnt work for ppl on other steps and differently coloured stairways. (and i believe that on every step there is only one person, except the case of a soulmate)

However: It would still be great if ppl would share some main values, you know, helping each other, being empathic and open-minded.. i think these are the values which do not change in time.

I am very into everyone finding what works best for them and doing their best to grow and learn throughout their life. So long as it doesn't hurt anyone else - and what qualifies as hurting someone else is another topic unto itself.

Questioning ourselvesf and what we believe is a way to challange ourselves to become better perople, if we're willing to persevere with courage through stagnant or difficult times.

Of course, even that is a point of view which I don't insist others take or follow.

my way of being is good for me. i suppose, however, that if others were like me we would see world war three. although i do believe that my ideals, values and beliefs are a standard one could possibly go by to live a great life, i don't project myself or who i am onto others. everyone needs to live according to themselves to achieve happiness. and i cannot stand in the way of that...

It's possible that the way I live my life could be good for someone else but that's not my decision. It's up to every person how they live their life, their morals, their beliefs and whatever else. I would not even try to make that decision for someone.

Hello dear!
I live my life and whoever have questions and like to learn, ask me and we have dialog! [Dialog is the conversation to approach Truth, not to convince the other side of the position of our side!]
