The electrician that came to my home to repair my box said that anything using refrigeration is a big one! Also, any appliances with an energy saver feature is a huge help. So, next time you buy, say, a window air conditioning unit or refrigerator, make sure you buy a unit with the highest energy saver rating possible. Lights, computers are not that expensive to operate. However, anything that heats up or has a heating element can be a wallet buster. We stopped running our central air and bought two window units with energy saver features that had high energy saver ratings. We ended up saving around 150 to 200 bucks on our electric bill per month. We were just as comfortable and those two units paid for themselves in just 2 months!

Anything with an electric element in it uses more elec. Dryers, toasters, irons, toaster ovens, hair dryers, heating pads, etc. To reduce your elec. bill cinsider everything that uses elec. See how you can better use it. Turn lights, TVs , radios, computers off when not in use. Do only full loads of laundry. If you have elec. stove use most efficient level of heat. When you open refig. get everything out at once that you need..reverse when you put them back. The more times you open refrig. door the more times the compressor kicks on. Good Luck.

Use your appliances early in the morning or late at night. If you can hang clothes out on a line to dry rather then your dryer. Open your diswasher to air dry your dishes...Be smart and listen to your news and they will tell you what to do and there should be a notice in your billings every month on how to save...
