I want to know what is the term when someone takes a dayoff of work, but the person still gets the salary for that day?

Do you call that sick leaves? or day-off paid? or any others?

if you are an exempt employee (annual salary) it's called goofing off.

if you are non-exempt employee (hourly) with benefits like vacation days (depending on employer). it's called a vacation.
