Tell me why if you don't think he was.

Well, he (and his assistants) made at least two clear mistakes:

- 1st French goals (Govou) was initiated by a clear offside from Gallas which was ignored by the ref

- 28th minute Semioli was clearly fouled in the penalty area and the ref ignore that too

Then he made few other mistakes for each side. My vote for him is 5.

Yet, it does not make any sense to find excuses for today's game: Donadoni needs to work without any stress and Italian press should let him do his job. He is trying to "renew" the Team and in football this process is often painful in terms of immediate results.
The irony is that the French Team has the same problem (I think Ribery is 23 and another player has the same age), while the rest of the player have a high age average. Soon (very soon) they have to follow the same process that Donadoni has already initiated.

I think the referees weren't good enough (particulary the assistent). The first goal of Govou was clearly irregular cause Gallas was in an off-side position while he passed it, but anyway they scored 3 goals so it doesn't really matter. Some other things happened as well but I don't want to blame the referee, just like many French fans did during the WC. They deserved to win this time and they won, that's it. But hey! we've got the trophy, no? It's a million times better!

no he wasnot ,france first goal was clearly an offside (although it was a gr8 one)and there was a penality 4 italy ,and vierra attacked gilardinio and he didnot take even a yellow card so i think that the real result should have been 2/2 or 2/1 for france if italy missed the penalty that they should have been given
