I tend to think so because of my personal experiences in life. I've observed so much that 'seemed to happen for a reason' that I found myself saying that I believed that everything happens for a reason. And with that said, I think I'm saying yes to your question about "everything having a purpose."
Some of the people responding to your question have mentioned that saying yes would imply that everything is predetermined or preordained and that in such a case you wouldn't be able to make choices. I don't totally agree with that because, for example, if there is a purpose for you to be here, and that purpose is for you to choose a lifestyle that is either good or bad, then your purpose has been predetermined, but what's been predetermined is that you have to make a choice. So, as you can see, that perspective of predetermination doesn't deprive you of making choices.
During my years, I've often found myself not being able to accomplish tasks which should have been very easy for me. Exasperated, I would eventually walk away telling myself that I'd come back to the tasks later. Later, I would often learn that the tasks no longer needed to be performed for one reason or another.
I didn't initially notice a pattern, but over the years, when I experienced difficulty with a task that should have been easy for me to accomplish, I started thinking that it might be another one of those tasks that I would end up not having to do, so I would put it off until the next day. That happened often enough for me to start thinking that such things might be happening for a reason. In other words, something or someone was causing me to have difficulty with a task because the task simply didn't need to be done--or so it would be determined later.
I'm not going to bore you to death by going on and on about things that have happened to me that lead me to believe that everything happens for a reason (or everything has a purpose), because I think I've said enough to give you some insight into why I think the way I do.
Hope you find my sharing my thoughts with you to have been helpful.

I believe that our purpose in life is to live a morally and just life. I dont think that we have a specific purpose such as becoming a doctor, marrying having a family and living at the coast. Those are incidental and happen because we want them to happen.
God gave us free will to decide what path we want to take. I belive that He inspires us and gives us the tools to do what we do, but its up to us to make it happen.

No, but. . .
The human brain is built to subconsciously try to find patterns in everything it takes in. Recognizing these patterns allows a better survival rate by allowing us to be able to know what is coming next. One of the results of this process is that we can create associations that really aren't there. If there actually is no purpose to something, our brain will try to come up with one.
Purpose requires conscious effort. Many things you encounter daily that were designed by people have obvious purposes: cars, refrigerators, etc., but these things can be repurposed based on the user. Your life has purpose based upon what you consider important to it. You can only give or accept purpose to things in your life.

Rain does not fall to make the grass grow. It falls because of the impersonal operation of natural laws. Luckily for us, plants needs rain to grow. Modern science does not leave room for "facts" about right and wrong. So sadly, no, everything does not have a purpose. The idea that nature has made all things specifically for man is only human vanity.

I think everything has a reason. Im not sure if everything technically has a purpose, because purpose implies preordaned. Things happen because they need to happen, but I dont think that they have to happen a certain way.

In theory....
but I tend to think that some of men's invention lack a purpose...
exemples: michael jackson's nose (why the hell would he do that to himself), a lot of the items you find in a dollar store and of course... George Bush (can anyone say puppet)

Yes I do. You may not know what it is at first...because you are not at that point of understanding. But, all your experiences that you are going through now lead up to those several moments in which the knowledge you obtain becomes critical. ; )
Hope this helps
