There is no Liberal party on the ballot where I vote. There is the Democratic and Republican party and on some voting machines the Libertarian party. There may even be a right to life party but if there is a liberal party, i think it's pretty dam rare.

My apologies to people here from other countries. You are right. I do believe there is are liberal parties outside the US. I am specifically addressing this question to those people here in the US who use the term Liberal. I know that many of them are Republicans and conservative in their philsophy but the term Liberal has become so pervasive that even Democrats are using it without thinking. And I agree with coragryph all democrats are NOT liberal. Far from it.

Because many people cannot (or refuse) distinguish between those who support a liberal philosophy (liberals) and Democrats.

They also refuse to acknowledge that a large number of liberals are found outside the Democratic party, and that some Democrats are conservatives.

In their brains, liberal = Democrat = whatever else they think....

Reality has no effect on their delusions.

it doesnt matter which party is on or off the ballot.

whoever is in charge will never provide true justice for the people and by the time bush finishes office the incoming presidents for the next 12 years will be doing global damage control(kissing butt to all the countries bush pissed on) and seriously revitalizing the hell out of the u.s. economy.

Liberal is a synonym to Democrat. As Conservative is supposed to mean Republican, but sadly, hasn't lately.

The braindead commie libs support the "do nothing" democrats, so the good americans lump the two together since both are useless.

Because with their small brains they cannot think any thing else, they cannot even explain from where the word "LIBERTY" comes from.
