No, saran wrap by it's self won't do any damage to a cars finish but depending on if you put something else on the car before the saran wrap then it could possibly.

Saran wrap works well on a car. It keeps the car fresh for the picnic. I like my cars with mayonaise and jalapenos.

Well, if you put flour on the car then wrap it in saran wrap, the car's finish is ruined.
There was an article in my local paper about a woman who managed to track down the little punks who did that to her family's cars plus toilet papering and other vandalism. She turned them over to the sheriff's department who arrested them and they are now awaiting trial.
