amnio can be done between 16-18 weeks but the mother has to be willing to do it. Otherwise you will have to wait until the baby is born and request a DNA test. If the mother refuses, you may have to get a court order.

You need to wait until the baby is born. It is 100% safe for the baby at that point. Trying to have a DNA test done prior can increase the risk of miscarriage.

in a matter of minutes when the baby is born......they take blood or swab the inside of the mouth....then you get the answer in a week or 2
