That is high if you are just sitting on the couch or not doing any excercise. If you are walking or doing excercise it is fine. even up to 130 or 140 times per minute for intense excercise. If you are just sitting there then you need to see a doctor.

Everytime I went to give blood my heart rate was over 100. I wasn't even worried about giving blood. Then my mom went to the dr for high blood pressure and got a thing that told you your heart rate. I did it a few times after I had been sitting down doing nothing and it was always between 90 and 100. I was worried so I looked around online and asked some nurses. The answer I got the most is that everyone is different. Some people normally have a heart rate higher. I'm not saying you in particular are fine. Only a doctor can say that. And I don't know about you, but I don't have health care. So you can tell your parents about it and see what they say. They usually know best. =)

Are you a young teen or older teen? Children have a higher heart rate than adults and the rate people here are giving you is the normal rate for adults (60-80). If you have noticed a change inyour heart rate recently there may be a problem or it might even be as simple as your maturing or going through puberty has changed your heart rate, but that it hasn't quite stabilised at an adult level as yet so you might notice the more rapid beats occasionally. I'm not sure. Anyway, if you don't feel unhealthy don't worry about it. You might want to get checked by a school nurse or at a community center just to releive your anxiety and to make sure your pulse is right for your age.

If you normally have a high heart rate it would be fine, but if your experiencing something different than the normal then you need to be checked out by a doctor. Have you eaten anything lately that you are having a reaction too? Have you done a strenuous activity that you haven't recovered from? A normal resting heart rate is from 60 to 80. If your small or young, it will be higher. Babies hearts beat at over 200.

NO! Not unless you are exercising. The normal heart beat range for a healthy person is between 60 to 80 beats per minute at rest. I would suggest you See a doctor ASAP. If you are having any other symptoms with it like dizziness, nausea. Got to the Emergency room. It could be serious. Good luck. And God bless.

As someone above mentioned it could be asthma or something like that. However there are several tricks you can use to control your breathing. When you are are running make sure you are breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth, this is very important. Also, try to always keep a steady breathing rhythm, personaly I inhale for two steps then exhale for two steps. Exhale is very important as well, make sure you exhale everything you can when breathing. If you start to pant or breath heavy then its just a sign that you are working pretty hard, if you always stop whenever this happens you won't build your heart muscle anymore than it already is and so your stamina won't increase. Hope this helps :)

That is abnormal if you are just sitting down- a fast heart rate is known as tachycardia- It could be caused by various factors, including: increased exercise, anxiety, stress, caffeine, narcotics, nervous tissue defects that regulate heart rate, or a conduction problem in the heart. If you feel that there is no reasonable explanation or are concerned, you should tell a parent or adult to get you to a hospital just to be sure you're okay.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.
It is a little bit fast. A normal rate should probably be closer to 80, but 90-100 is not that much faster.
If you take your own blood pressure and you are like me you will probably be able to notice that your heart rate will speed up as you are taking it. That is a fairly normal response.
Have someone else take it, preferably when you aren't expecting it. You may be surprised that it is much lower than you think.

Well it all depends if you are stressed out you tend to have a faster heart beat. However it should slow down to you resting heart rate when you are relaxed. If you have been taking any type of stimulant you heart rate will be faster. But if it is different from normal and you are concerned see your doctor.

If you are having beats like this at a resting rate, you may be in for some health problems. If you have just finished some work or exercise, that is normal.
