Ok I installed linux, it works! I think? Is there a internet besides text? I mean can I surf websites? if so help me understand how?

There is a program (usually) on the linux start menu called Konqueror. This is a normal web browser just like IE and firefox.

Dude, install Firefox or Mozilla or something. Which distribution did you install? There are a plethora of browsers, any number of which are probably installed by default.

Have you installed modem drivers, and done the internet connection setup? before you could use internet.
