Because Congress won't do it's job.
Bush admits to violating federal law. Federal courts, including the Supreme Court confirm be violated federal law. We have admission, plus court confirmation. What more are they waiting for?
Obviously, Congress simply isn't interested in doing its job. So, time to fire them and elect a new Congress, or as much of one as is allowed (we can only dump 1/3 of the Senate per 2 years).
{EDIT to cman} The CIA is part of the Executive Branch. And under direct orders via DHS from Bush. Or did you miss that fact?
{EDIT to Pigpen} It violates federal law. 18 USC 2441 specifically.
And yes, the Constitution does. Article II requires the President to ensure that the laws (including treaties) are faithfully executed.

There's no future in impeachment. Let it go. The clown is gone in 2 years and a wake-up. Let's not waste our precious tax dollars and time on something that will ultimately not satisfy us.
We all know the secret prisons exist, we all know that torture has been passed down the chain of command from the very top. And enlisted men and women are paying the price for following orders. (funny how that didn't quite work for Nazi torturers. The boys who gave the orders paid the ultimate price and it sure wasn't impeachment.)
But hey, maybe the American people need to be impeached for letting all this stuff happen in the first place. Supposedly, it is a government for the people, by the people and of the people.
And honestly, I think every nation has the government it deserves. And apparently we don't currently deserve a better one.

Because we as the American people do not stand up and fight for what is right anymore. We sit at home in our cozy chairs and flip through channels unaware and uncaring of what our government is doing. As long as gas is cheap and we can have fun on the weekends we are satisfied. We have fallen into the what is easy instead of doing what is right. Bush has done much more than Clinton EVER did in deserving impeachment. Yet nothing. Why? Because no one has stood up and said "Hey, what you are doing is wrong. You will pay for your faults and lies." No, we all just sit here silent.
The illegal aliens are marching for their rights on our streets and we as Americans are sitting behind our tv screens being angry about it and yet doing nothing still. We have lost our fighting spirit. That which our country was based on. Our ancestors are probably rolling in their graves for us letting this country become such a mess.

To all of you that "the wanna-be dictator" is not breaking the law: learn how to read THE CONSTITUTION. His job is also to uphold treaties - that includes the Geneva Convention. It kills me you morons are still agreeing to this! This is why our country is in such peril. Not because of our freedoms, but because of our policies.
"Dumbaya" should be impeached, however, the Republicans are still in control of Congress, so that won't happen. He should be impeached. If you can try for impeachment on a guy getting a b!ow j0b in office, you should impeach a president for lying and, basically, war crimes...

Because unfortunately, if George leaves, Dick Cheney gets the position of CIC. No. Nononononono.
There would be lots of suicides after that.
Personally I think the whole cabinet should be impeached, found guilty, and public hangings brought back.
And if Brother Jeb ever decides to run for President, I'm just going to sleep with a gun every night, holding the muzzle in my mouth.

I'm a little concerned about the use of the word "Dictator". Not because you used it, but because I feel that national poliltics, although very important, overshadows local politics to the point that people do not vote responsible in local elections. That is what will make or break us.

Does the Constitution say anything about not having CIA prisons in other countries? Does it say anything about following the Geneva Convention? If not, then why would he be impeached for this?

Would you prefer the detainees stay at the Waldorf Asroria or the Hilton?
People like you are laughable but, unfortunately, even the least among us in the U.S. has the right to vote (as scary as that may seem).
