Big question I know! I bought a amd athlon xp 3000+axda3000dkv4e 400mhz fsb 512k but dont have it yet, the guy said it wouldent post on his motherboard, Have any ideas?

I got it for 60 bucks, I have a new mobo, With 2 512 400ddr

It might not post for several reasons:

1) It's damaged (the obvious) - a pin could have been bent, could have been exposed to a high-dose of ESD (electrostatic discharge) or the CPU was overclocked too far

2) The motherboard shorted out

3) The socket on the motherboard is damaged

4) A capacitor on the motherboard is damaged

5) Memory modules are damaged


So in other words, it's the motherboard if the CPU isn't the problem.

Whas type of memory are you using, is the mother board 64bit same as processor the followng boards support AMD 3000 64bit xp+ processors 64bit

I had an athlon 1.2 and an athlon 1.33 iwill KA466 mobo did not post. Changed memory and surely swaped processors and it seemed like it was in the mobo chipset, not processor. Seems like at the time I concluded that the BIOS was screwed. I had another mobo and it ran seems like both processors okay after that.

So the processor is prob good
