this is one example why i think pol. cor. has become ridiculous.when watching the news one night,a segment on local crime, they were reporting on some crimes being commited in the subway by a group of juveniles or young adults & when it came to describing the suspects from witness accounts, they would only comment on the suspects hair color & clothing worn.as it turns out the suspects were 4 young black men.now i don't know about you but as far as me & a lot of people i know think that a news station not allowed to mention a crime suspects skin color is INSANE!THINK ABOUT IT ! i hope that this type pol.cor. is just a passing fad.

"Political correctness" is a red herring. It's just a meaningless label people want to throw at ideas they don't agree with, in a lame attempt to discredit them.

Lord I hope it is a fad. I'm sick of having to side step the truth for fear of offending someone. Since when did speaking the truth, become a bad thing.

I'm sick of having to call some one a African-American or Asian-American, when did being just a plain old American become a bad thing.

I'm sick of having to make sure that every child on the field gets a trophy instead of only the winners, because those children who don't get a trophy will feel bad. They should feel bad, it's called the agony of defeat.

I'm tired of pampering everyone, so that no ones feeling get hurt. Your feelings are suppose to get hurt sometimes, it's called real life, not this play half life that everyone wants to live so that there are no great big ups and no way far downs. They want to stay on a constant in-between.

I'm tired of trying to think up ways to make average people feel special, and having to try and remember to not over-congratulate the above average people for their good work.

It depends on what you mean by political correctness. If you mean minority and women's rights, then I certainly hope that they will not only be here in 100 years, but that they increase. If you mean saying that the market system is the same as democracy, then I hope not.

Lately, I've gotten really sick of being "politically correct." I can understand how it can show respect to certain factions, but my goodness, I just feel for kids these days! I mean, they're going to get to the point where instead of being able to tell their teacher that they feel sick, they'll have to say something like, "Mr. or Ms. So-and-So, I feel health-deprived."

Political correctness is a joke. I fear 100 years from now we'll be in some nanny-state socialist 'utopia'

I sure hope so. I think the road we are on. is that we will all be able to say what ever we want and then sue everyone and anyone who does it. i do believe in free speech. but I also think that some things are better left unsaid.
