My girlfriend is hispanic and I am white. I'm 30 and she is 20. She still lives with her parents. They don't believe that we should see each other everyday. They also believe that we shouldnt talk on the phone as much as we do (3 hours a day average). Are they right? Should I obey? Or should I put up a fight because I don't believe they are right?

I think you should let her find you, call you! Especially if she lives with her parents that really makes things odd. They obviously still are going to see her as their little girl since she is still dependent on them. Here you are 10 years older than her "a grown gavacho-white man" and your trying to seduce their daughter?! No my friend (most)Hispanic families are very protective, that's why she still lives at home. You need to let her see what she wants that way you don't come off as being too "aggressive" or "desperate". If she can't break free from them then most likely she will not be able to make her own decisions without them intervening. Trust me you don't want a Hispanic daddy taking "the law" into his own hands because he believes you to be bad for her. Win them over as well with your education, your steadiness in a job, your ability to provide, that's what the families always like to see for their daughters; Good stable, educated, and polite men. Good luck, take care, dodge them bullets when they come flying or wear a bullet proof vest!

Well...I think if I have BF that hanging around me everyday.... I will be bored and I might lose my feeling to him. Sorry, but I think everyday is too much. Even the parents will think that annoying somehow. And you even call her 3 hours a day ?? You have to respect her family also.

You should listen to her parents.

By spending so much time with you she is alienating friends and family. Sorry, but no one is that important.

Let her thrive, she is only 20. She needs to have friends and go out and experience life without you watching over her. It's an important stage in her life.

back off a little.

It is important in any relationship to remain individuals. You should want to have some time alone to miss your girlfriend. So when you do see her the time you all spend together will be even more valuable.

Why are her parents dictating what she does with her 20 year old life? As long as it's not so overwhelming as to distract her from her goals/ambitions and responsibilities, what's the problem? Enjoy each other.

As long as your gf lives with mommy and daddy they're going to expect her to play by their rules? Does she work? Maybe she can get her own place. Do you work? Maybe you 2 can share a place. Don't disrespect her parents, as you probably know she loves them.
