How long should a couple date before the guy proposes? What do you think of people who be together for like 20yrs or more before they're married??

I think it depends upon the couple and the length of time is different for everyone. My husband and I dated for over 5 years before he proposed and then we waited another year and a half before we actually got married. We just took our time that's all but I don't think there should ever be an actual time limit. When it's right it's right.

Thereis no time frame involved. The right time is when you both know that you are ready for that big step. However if the guy does not propose after 20 years there must be something wrong. Maybe you must propose.

I think they should date 2 or 3 years before they get engaged and then they should live together for a year or so before they get married....

If there love each other so much, why wait for 20 yrs for that....some lovers met for a sec they lived happily for a lifetime.
