I am interested in making my own all-natural, aromatherapy personal care products (facial cleansers, toners, soaps and such). I am not interested in using any synthetic chemicals for preservatives. What are some effective all-natural preservatives that would prolong the shelf-life of my "creations"? Thanks!

You may not need a preservative, depending on what you use. We make sea salt scrubs and use food grade oils (safflower, sunflower, grape seed) that already contain vitamin E. The added essential oils do not need preservatives. If you're making an alcohol-based cleanser and toner and adding essential oils, that wouldn't need a preservative, either. I'm not sure about soaps -- I use glycerin with no preservatives added.

Go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby and they should be able to answer that question for you.
