It has been announced. In the 5th Harry Potter movie, Order of the Phoenix, there will be no Quidditch sequence. It has been cut due to time restraints. Opinions?

There will be no Quidditch sequence. Since this is the first year Ron plays as Keeper and Harry eventually gets banned, it might make sense to exclude it. I would not mind at least one sequence, but I am a die hard Harry Potter fan. Opinions?

I think it is a shame that we won't see Ron's triumph as Gryffindor's keeper. The whole Weasley Is Our King thing was great in the book. I understand that it means a lot of blue screen work, but still, that means that we'll also lose the fight between Draco and Harry (and George?) that leads to their lifetime bans from Quidditch.

If cutting Quidditch out is the price to be paid to have more time for 12 Grimmauld Place, Dumbledore's Army, St. Mungo's, Occlumency lessons, and the Ministry of Magic scenes, then I guess it will be worth it. I'm really looking forward to seeing the fighting sequences at the Ministry. The return of Lucius and Voldemort's duel with Dumbledore are going to be fantastic!

Quidditch is fun and all, but in the books I really don't like reading about it. The story is what is most important and they need to spend what little time they're going to give this large book (which should be longer if they made that crappy Titanic movie that long) relaying the depth of the story. This one is quite more emotional, a lot darker than the others, and the famed wizarding sport just wasn't relevant. I will indeed miss it to a degree seeing as how this IS Ronald's first year on the team, but I'm sure there will enough on screen to compensate for the loss.

I think since the third movie the movies havent been good. the third and fourth were almost aweful but enjoyable to watch a few times. but the main thing is. is that they cut out almost every importmant scene in the whole book! like winky (she is kind of important in the 5th) i was so looking forward into seeing her!

I also dont like the fact that dumbledore doesnt have a gently grandfather voice anymore (i know the origonal one past away but really they could have casted so much better)

ya i guess the books are always going to be better.

aww o well. hopefully they would hire a good directer (like the first too)

It's not a big surprise that they decided to cut quidditch scenes. I mean, they've cut more important scenes from the other movies. That's why even though I like the movies, the books will always be much better.

Just finished reading the book. It was over 800 pages long. The story was gripping. Dark, but I think the best one yet. Trust me, you won't miss Quidditch. It should be back in the sixth installment though. Quiddich plays a very important part in the story.
