We've been married for 2 mos. Since the wedding, he's quit his job and sits around all day playing Xbox. Everyday, after a hard days work at the Taco Bell , I come home and he is passed out on the couch with the television blaring videogame music. I keep telling him to get another job, but he just says he's depressed. He's got 5 kids to support, none of them are mine, but I'm afraid they will come after ME for the child support, since he's not paying. He just turned 19, I think that has something to do with it. Sometimes I feel like I'm his MOM instead of his wife. There is a 15-year age difference between us, so I don't expect him to act my age, but how do I get him to at least be a little bit more responsible?

If he can get you to do it all then he will. Sounds like he's looking for you to take care of him. The fact that he has 5 kids at age 19 is a hint that he's not very responsible or mature. He won't grow up over night and I would bet he was like this when you got him. Either deal with it or bounce. It's only been 2 mo. and he's just showing you who he is. I would simply move and get an annulment and cut my losses.

They won't come after your income for his children. Men do what you have done all the time, so I won't bash you for the age difference. All work is honorable, so I won't even say anything about you being 34 and working at Taco Bell (but I hope you are a manager at least.) Only thing left to say is, c'mon all interactive toys are expensive. He has an X-box, you have him. What did you really expect?

How is it that he s only 19 and has 5 kids? That makes no sense to me. As far as growing up is concerned, for all intensive purposes, you married a kid and he is too young to assume the responsibilities of marriage and fatherhood. Sosial Services and Child Protective Services can't touch you for child support.

he's 19 and he's got five kids? i don't know if you're serious or not.. but if you are, geesh, first you should teach the boy about protection.. and i'm not saying that to be mean, just pointing out a simple fact.
so anyways.. to answer the question.. i think you should tell him the same thing you said to us.. tell him that you don't expect him to act your age, but you expect him to at least have a job and stuff.. and tell him that if he doesn't start acting more responsible, that maybe he isn't responsible enough to be in a mariage

I think you need to grow up. Why have you been so rude to me? Insulting me when i ask questions? In case you didn't know i am an adult woman. Don't you dare call me an 11 year old. If you don't like my questions than don't answer them and the world will be a much more peaceful place ok?

Considering this is posted in POLLS.... " And as a woman how can he have five kids by 19? And Why oh WHY would you marry him?" I think you are pulling our legs!

you can't make him change. sounds like he needs a mom rather than a wife. i say get out while you can. anyway wtf are you doing with someone 15 years younger with 5 kids at the age of 19? if he were marraige material he would be responsible, which means he wouldn't be out there making babies left and right.

He's 19 and has five kids??? Man he is so irresponsible and just a kid himself. You can't make him anything he has to want to change himself. I feel sorry for you in away and I'm so happy I'm not in your shoes.
