why do all women wear purses and what do they put in there other than make up?

I don't wear my purse, I carry it. The only makeup I put in my purse is a tube of lipgloss. I have my card case, checkbook, pack of gum, keys, pens, lighters, paystubs(?!) in there.

Well, I carry a purse everywhere. But you wouldn't find make up in there. I prefer the purse to putting my wallet in my pocket because of my clothes. But I also have my keys, my work ID badge (which is big and I never know when I'll need it), money, and coins.

I generally don't "wear" a purse but I take a purse with me that also has my wallet and my phone.

Men are generally always in trousers with pockets so therefore they don't need a purse.

keys, ID, Money, Charge cards, Medical id, Check book, cell phone, small journal. Rosaries, Pens, Sharpie marker, Hi-lighter, Tiny New Testament, Blessing oil, gum or hard candy, medicines, receipts from stores. Wrappers from the gum or hard candies. small flashlight on key chain. hankies. Hair elastics, sometimes a tiny fragrance atomiser and breath freshener.
I always carry a lipstick in a mirrored case. rarely any other make-up, I put it on before leaving the house. Reading Glasses, Sun Glasses, MP3 player with FM radio and Voice recording, ear phones, Headphones for cell phone. Sometimes a contact case and eye drops.


Of course I add and take away stuff depending on where I am going and what I am doing.

Not me, I hate carrying a purse. I usually put some cash, my ID and a credit card in my pocket. If I have to carry a purse, that's what is in there. Oh, and the make-up. Not. Just lip gloss. And let's see....

my grocery list. And a separate non-grocery list. extra pens. receipts. coins. midol & related acessories. phone numbers on little scraps of paper. paper clips. check book. stamps. cell phone. daughter's barrette. small bottle of water. purse size eau de toilette spray. sunscreen. sun glasses. miscellaneous business cards collected from people I will never call for services I will never need. gift certificate for a spa day from last christmas. hello kitty eraser. sudafed. kleenex. nail clippers. nail file. clear polish. more lip gloss. movie ticket stubs from last weekend. power bar. tea bag. blue tooth thingy that I don't use yet. map to outlet shopping mall. cingular coverage area and mail in rebate info for my new phone. school calendar for kids' school. emergency contact numbers. list of children's clothing sizes from back to school shopping spree. and... a package of goldfish crackers! Ta da!!!!!! Now you know. And my purse has been cleaned out. We both win!

Personally I put my license, money, debit card, credit card, keys, peoples phone numbers (in case I'm in thier area), coupons, family picture, pen, chapstick, purell (to keep my hands clean), extra piece of paper, gum, advil, midol, my screwdriver for my glasses, my name tag for work, and whatever else I may need for the day... just easier to bring a purse along instead of switching it in pockets every freakin' day long... so yeah a purse is handy and CUTE at times :)

Not "all" women have a purse. Infact i do not carry one. For my friends that do carry one I see that they have a pen, keys, checkbook, oversized wallet, time of the month items and well whatever she might feel needs to be taken

I carry my purse because it has my wallet which has my drivers license. I also keep my cellphone, checkbook, and business cards in there. No makeup, do that before I leave the house
