OTHER THAN REPELLENTS YOU SHOULD KEEP YOUR PROPERTY MOWED AND TRIMMED AS FAR AS YOU CAN GO AND FREE OF A LOT OF TALL GRASS AND WEEDS. THEY LIKE HANGING OUT THERE BECAUSE IT'S A SAFE HIDING PLACE. YOU COULD ALSO PUT OUT MOUSE BAIT TO KEEP THE MOUSE POPULATION DOWN, SNAKES LIKE THEM AS SNACKS. IF YOU HAVE KIDS AND PETS BE SURE TO PUT THE BAIT WHERE THEY CAN'T GET TO IT. IF YOU ELIMINATE WHAT ATTRACTS THEM IT WILL HELP BUT I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT THEY WILL BE MORE AFRAID OF YOU THAN THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

We live in the country, middle of a wooded plot. Keep your weeds cut, don't leave piles of wood or old fencing around for them to hide under but honestly we have never seen a snake on our property. They are generally more afraid of you than you are of them.
