The most common, most professional length is to the end of the finger and square.. square and short but not too short is IN. Long and too short boyish nails are out.

I'd say to then end of your fingertip or just a touch longer and squared off. Also avoid bright polish colors. Neutral colors will look ok but the "in" thing is dark polish.

I say 1/4 inch, which is Navy regulation standards for women and actually i think it looks good too
