Three Days Grace - never heard of
Van Halen - First 4 LPs rocked!, Like Hagar's solo stuff but with Halen the Van Hagar thing was just too mellow for me.
Quiet Riot - Had a couple good songs. Mostly though it was pop metal. Basically a very watered down version of Metal for consumption of the masses.
DragonForce - Wicked name but never heard of them.
Motely Crue - Like several of thier tunes. Mostly off thier first two LPs. After Shout at the Devil there are maybe two Crue tunes I like.
Judas Preist - Started out with some really raw and primitive stuff. Got much better as they went along. The only group I've ever heard where thier heart really wasn't into the music but still sounded good. I have owned several Priest CDs, Tape and LPs. Got thier greatest hits CD and it still didn't have half the JP tunes I really like. They are never going to knock anybody out with musical talent. They are not consumate composers. Still the gritty raw sound they have speaks to many. Halford fits them perfectly vocally if not personality wise. They put on a good concert as well. Excellent showmen.
My tastes run more towards Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zep, AC/DC, Dio, Ozzy, Savatage, Scorps, Deep Purple, Uriah Heap, etc when it comes to classic rock/early Metal.

I never really heard of Three Days Grace and DragonForce so I will not comment on them for now.
Van Halen is a great band whether if it's David Lee Roth or Sammy Haggar fronting the band. (No Gary Cherone) Eddie Van Halen is sucha great guitarists that many guitarists around the world looks up to him.
Quiet Riot was a band originally started by the great guitar legend, Randy Rhoads himself, but ironically they were famous after Randy Rhoads died. They are ok to me but I think if Randy Rhoads was alive and rejoined Quiet Riot, they may be the greatest metal band of all times.
Motley Crue is another band that's worth mentioning. They may be called a glam band, they didn't sound like 1. In m opinion, they are one of the greatest metal bands in the 80s.
Lastly, Judas Priest, the greatest heavy metal band of all time. Although they are old and been around for very long, who could forget Halford's scream. They bring heay metal to a whole new level.

Quiet Riot's first album was the best for only two known songs...everything else was weak.
Most of Motley Crue is fun to listen to.
Van Halen has two eras: The DLR era, and then the SH era. Both are unique...but strangly simular. Good none-the-less
Judas Priest was great in his day. But not really like the others you have listed. Basically high pitched singing speed-metal...some songs tamer than others. Keep in mind, they have been around for a long time.
The other two I don't know about.
Hope this helps

Van Halen was out of ideas after their third album. The first album of theirs is probably the best overall. Quiet Riot was a one-hit wonder band, first album is their best one (but in my opinion it's still not that good). Motley Crue I always thought was a bunch of Los Angeles posers, sorry, can't stand 'em. Judas Priest on the other hand is one of the classic metal bands and deserve more respect than they get. Don't know the other ones, sorry.
If you don't have Led Zeppelin II, Deep Purple's "Machine Head," and Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" in your collection, you should get them right away. Those three bands are far superior to any of the bands you mentioned except for perhaps Judas Priest.

Three Days Grace - No Penises
Van Halen - Van Halen kicks ***, but Van Hagar almost made me grow a vagina
Quiet Riot - ehhh... two songs that were hits way before the 80's metal era doesn't make a good metal band
DragonForce - Isnt' that Japanimation?
Motley Crue - In their heyday, they sucked I thought, but now I don't think they suck quite so badly
Judas Priest - Same as Motley Crue...

Three Days Grace, never heard em
Van Halen, overrated. Band was best with Sammy Hagar
Quiet Riot, not quiet enough, they blew
Dragon Force, never heard em
Motley Crue, legendary partiers and stories, music was wussy kid stuff
Judas Priest, inconsistent music producers, but they still rocked, I would see Priest live before the other bands if I could see any of them.
