I don't think it's a matter of fooling people, I think it's a matter of cheating people. Instead of raising the price they give you less food in the package or they raise the price and give you less food in the package. Come to think of it I think it's just a matter of greed

I don't think people are being fooled, per se. I do think that sometimes we don't give consumers credit. People realize it, but what else are you going to do? Demand they make larger sizes at the same price?

That's why you have the price per oz (or gram or whatever measurement), and consumers should check that instead of the aggregrate amount.

I tend to think so cause they know what the hell their doing moving all the waste out making way for the fresh, in other saying out with the old in with the new.

Supermarkets are dinosaurs anyway as Wal-Mart kills them from the bottom line and high end stores like Wegmans and Whole Foods siphon off the wealthiest customers.

Sometimes. Some shoppers are savvy and know when their quantities have decreased. Others are oblivious.
