i recently went off the pill & me n my bf have been trying alot since my last period. i have been having pregnancy symptoms but i think its to early. i took a hpt 3 days after my next period was due. the result was negative. Should i do another test, and how long should i wait?

Why not go into your doctor and have a blood test done? They are accurate much sooner.

Without an established return to "normal" cycles after going off the pill, and if you don't track cycles/ovulation, you wouldn't have anyway of knowing when you ovulated, so you don't know when you would be due for your period. Hence, the negative could be because you haven't ovulated yet (and therefore aren't yet pregnant), you ovulated and aren't pregnant, or you ovulated too recently and the test isn't showing a positive result yet.
Its going to be hard to know when to expect your period because of that, so I would try weekly and call your doc if you get too uncomfortable with how long you've had to wait. Your doc may check to ensure you aren't pregnant, then give you horomones to induce your period and help start the cycle over again. My first cycle off the pill was 60 days and then I went back to normal again.

You should do a IQ test. What in the world are you thinking girl trying to get pregnant with your "BOYFRIEND"? Are you insane? Pray that you are not pregnant and insist that he marry you before you have a baby by this guy. Why in the world would you want to have a baby by a man that hasn't married you. Do you really think that he cares enough about you to be a good father and provider if he hasn't married you? Please talk to someone with some sense. Do you know what the rate of welfare for unwed mother's is? Don't you realize that you don't bring a child into this world when you have no assurance that this guy is going to help you care for the baby? He has no reason to stick with you. There is no law that makes him help you with that child unless you get married. If you don't want to marry the guy, then why in God's name would you want to have a baby with him?
It baffles the mind why so many girls out there are having babies out of wedlock. I hope that there is some unique, amazing circumstance here, but it seems quite ordinary to me.
Wait a few days to take the next test. Pray, pray, pray you are not pregnant, so that you can avoid this disaster you are heading for. Think about the baby you could make. Think girl. Think!

the hpt result does not always show tghe right result and it also depends on the pregnency if it is a good pregnency it will show in a week but generally it shows only after a month.better watch your periods and come to a decision and if possible visit a doc if you feel you are late by more than 15 days.

i took 7tests, i was 5 days late and i knew that i was pregnant"had a over whelming feeling" and i had negative 5 days late but took test again 3 days later and got positive (was 8 days late on period) they say the hormone levels rise every 2-3 days so try again then. if you have a very strong feeling that you are pregnant then the chances are good that you are bescause i reckon us women know our bodys and when something like pregnancy happens then we know! goodluckx

i would take another one, my frist test i took said neg. but still i had no period, i waited about a week or 2,and went 2 sleep got up next morning, and it showed pos.! now i have a beautiful baby girl!, good luck, and if you want to be pregnant, then i hope you are, and i wish you the best!

nicely i'd wait like per week then see what occurs in case you do not have your era through then then take yet another attempt by using the indisputable fact that surpassed off to me i change into pregnant and the being pregnant attempt stated that i change into no longer pregnant . or merely pass on your doctor and get a blood attempt it is going to likely be more beneficial precise . strong success although!

Well I've never been there but I've heard. When my mom was pregnant with me she didn't know, until she was 6 months but she still got her period during that time (weird) but true, well, like everyone else said just go to the doctor.

I wee wee d on a stick for 5 mo before my home preg test came back +. Go get a blood test. They are 100% accurate.
