For one thing how can you talk about god and freedom in the same sentence? I mean what the hell does god have to do with freedom? Before the United States there wasn't much freedom to begin with. Would you be asking the same question back then? And further more how do you know if god doesn't permit gay marriage? Are you getting this from the bible? In my opinion the bible was made by egotistical men who thought if they wrote some book then everyone would follow what the book said so they could be in control. I was raised catholic but that doesn't mean I have to believe a lie.

Freedom for all, it's not just for those who think it's only for them. Anyways when I kick the bucket the first thing I'm asking God is what did he do with all them people who hated so bad......

I wouldn't say we are backwards Jane T, In all them country's it wasn't always like that and we all don't move at the same time. at least in the USA we can say we hate Bush and want Gay marriage without being shot on the street. I just hope we do catch up to them places......

Respect for God has nothing to do with someones sexual preference. And if you read your Bible, it tells us NOT TO JUDGE. I believe that Gay men and Lesbians women are born that way and should be allowed to marry if they so choose. Love is love, no matter what your gender is. I happen to have friends that are Gay and Lesbian. To me, they are just people, the same as me. I believe they should be given the right to marry anyone they choose.

Because people Nowadays They Don't know no More No Different

Between Right Or Wrong

And like you said some They Think Bring Free is to Go Against God's Way
Being a Gay That is Mean a Mistake,,because either God Gives you penis and it is useless,,or God Give you Virgin to Receive nut you Go To a woman like you

and that mistake is from the Creature
so Therefor God did mistake
and Of course Nope God is Perfect
is we Human who Do Mistake

I Have asked a Lady At The Gas Station what do you think Of Gay?
She said
God Create Adam And Eve,,,Not Adam and Steve,,,Hmmmm Make sense

and we can even learn from Animal

Freedom . . . I believe everyone has the right to choose who they love and who they wish to spend their lives with. If we were truly "Free" we would be able to accept two people in love getting married no matter what their sexual orientation. Heterosexuals need to brighten up and realize that there is more than one way for love to be built and that marriage between a man and a woman is the "accepted norm" but their are also others who love and feel the same way a married couple feels. To each his or her own. Marriage should be legal for all those who love and want to commit to one person for life. It shouldn't matter if is man and woman, woman and woman or man and man.

excuse me, but where is the respect you have for other people? Furthermore, this country was based on a freedom of religion. If we dont want "respect for god" we are not required to have it.

Most americans only THINK they love freedom but they have no clue that the constitution is what gives them that freedom. Based on that constitution, there is nothing in there to prevent gays from marrying.

Where is the respect for grammar on the Internet?

I have no idea what your question is about, or whether you are for or against gay marriage.

As for me, I will marry my girl one day, but not until it is legal in MY STATE. I will not jump through hoops; i will wait until I can do it just like everyone else. And none of this "civil union" crap... California's next up anyway... shouldn't be too long.

The bigotry of the American majority on this topic goes to show how socially backward the US is (compared with Canada, Spain, UK, Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium, S Africa). A country which calls itself 'free', while refusing to acknowledge the right of every citizen to marry the person of his/her choice (by mutual agreement, of course), without outisde interference? Such a country makes itself a laughing stock.
