In the US, it is a legal valid marriage if there was a marriage licence gotten from the state, properly filled out by the law of that state and returned to the state and filed.

a hindu service would be a valid one as long as they got a marriage licence.

any marriage needs to be registered for it to be valid. social acceptance one gets from a social wedding but legal acceptance can be got only after one completes the legal formalities. registered marriages are under the hindu act of marriage & each religion must be having their own regsistration process.

Don't look to government to define marriage.

All the major religions pre-date the government. If you're married in the eyes of your religion . . . you're married.

All laws derive from common law, which derives ultimately from God's law.

Any government that doesn't recognize a marriage ordained by an established religion is not a valid government.

The definition of a "license" is a competent authority granting you permission to do something that is otherwise illegal.

Since when is getting married illegal? You DON'T NEED A LICENSE TO GET MARRIED ! ! ! ! ! ! !

As a matter of fact, if you get a license to get married, you have granted the government the authority to comandeer your children whenever they like. IT'S TRUE ! ! !

Don't get a marriage license. If your 501(c)(3) church won't marry you without one, find a pastor that hasn't been castrated by his servitude to Caesar.
