Every time I click an email address from a website, Windows automatically opens Outlook Express. I never use Outlook and want Yahoo to be my default mail. How do I change this?

Windows is assuming a mail program installed on the computer. Usually this is whatever program you opened and said "Yes I want you to be my default mail-news program".

Yahoo doesn't qualify and I don't know of a way to click an email link and have mail.yahoo.com come up, logged in create a new email, and stuff the address.

However I believe you can use Outlook to get your Yahoo mail and manage it inside Outlook. I know Hotmail allows you to do this anyhow. If Yahoo does, do a search for "Using Outlook" on yahoo's mail help page for instructions.

Yes, you can make Yahoo! Mail your default email program.

This is what you need to do to make Yahoo! Mail your default email program, and teach your computer to use Yahoo! Mail. Follow the directions below and it will solve your problem.

Using Internet Explorer just click "Continue" on the link below to download a small 60K file that will enable Yahoo! Mail to be the default email program for your computer. Whenever you click on an email address on any web page or in any computer program, Yahoo! Mail will open for you in a new window.

If Internet Explorer displays a yellow security bar at the top, click on it and select Install ActiveX Control from the menu.
If a security warning comes up with Yahoo! Inc. as the publisher, click Install.

Now you can click on an email address anywhere and your computer will automatically open up Yahoo! Mail for you.
You can even send documents directly from Word, Excel, or other Windows applications.

Requirements:
Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP / Vista
Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher

You cannot set a Web Based Email Program to Default and Open Web Links, if you have Yahoo Premium, you can set it to default in Outlook Express, OR Download and Install ThunderBird ( the sidekick to Firefox ) or some other free computer based email program, then set it to default. Good Luck

Yahoo is my default mail server. When I click on an email address link or the mail icon on the Explorer Toolbar, it takes me to Yahoo Mail. If I am not signed in, I go to the appropriate page.

I don't have a clue how it got this way, but I'm glad it did.
I think it happened when I chose Yahoo to be my default email client when downloading Yahoo Messenger and Toolbar.

I just wanted you to know it was possible, but I don't know how to do it.
