Actually, my shih tzu dog is named Jazmine, and we call her Jazz or Jazzy for short.
I love the name Jazz, because it has entirely good connotations. In fact, there is a new soda named Jazz. The marketing people know that the word "Jazz" exudes an aura of hip, cool and/or hot, edgy, lit up, glitzed, complex and talented. All words that are very positive.
Jasmine is also a plant which blooms with a fragrant small white flower, that is an intoxicatingly beautiful fragrance to catch on a summer evening's breeze. I have searched for a few years to find a perfume that can come close to this scent, but it seems to be exclusively nature's own.
With all of the positive associations of the word Jasmin, you could just leave it at that!
