No, and I'd like to continue by adding the blah-blah-blah that you don't want to hear... Just wait till you're 18, 'kay? You won't die if you don't get your bb pierced tomorrow...

No it is far from ok to pierce your own belly button or anything for that fact. Think about it this way. A piece of metal going through your body and staying there. Not only does that little hole need to be cleaned with antibacterial soup, but everything in the process needs to be sterilized. The piercing needle or gun is always properly cleaned and sterilized before use and sometimes thrown away after it is used on one individual. If you pierce it yourself you are more prown to getting infections, not saying that ur not going to be careful but that you might not know the right way of doing it. You can also pierce the wrong way by going to deep and causeing big problems for your safty and health. here are some helpful tips for you.
*check out a few places that offer pierceing and look for the cleanest place where the needles are clean and the people are also washing there hands and anything that will touch you in the process. also look for deals like free piercing with the purchase of earings and things like that.
*once you get the piercing keep it clean and take good care of it. you dont want a nasty infection around ur bellybutton. my friend got once also once because she found out she was allergic to the silver so try to find out before hand if you might be allergic to sterling silver or gold in your body. her infection was nasty and it looked kind of like a std since it went down the way it did. YUCK
well play it safe and i hope you like ur new piercing. oh and it dont hurt. the clanp to grab ur bellybutton skin hurts worse becuz it numbs the skin a bit...i didnt feel the needle at all really just the pressure of it. all the best to you chick.

Unless you're a trained professional, you should never pierce yourself or others. The risk of infection is just too great. What will your mom do when you have to go to the doctor beause your piercing got infected?
States have parental consent laws for a reason. If your mom won't consent but your dad will, see if you can get your dad to take you to a piercing shop and have it done (a *real* piercing place, not one of those places in the mall!).
Of course, then it's up to you to deal with your mom when she finds out. And she *will* find out. Mom's have a way of catching these kinds of things.

I would not suggest it at all..First off it WILL lead to infection if not professionally done, second you never be able to pierce it straight, looking down at your belly button and the pain would be incredible, you could always try, but consider yourself lucky if you have a 14 gauge open ended needle lying around your house..you can't use anything different because that's what gauge all the belly piercing jewelry are in the stores

No, you shouldn't do that yourself. I must be done by a professional. It could easily become infected and you could have major problems. Just wait until you are old enough to get it done without a parent or have you dad go with you if you are that determined.

Piercing your own belly button can lead to infections which can lead to serious complications, so I'd advise that you get it done professionally, and if you do, make sure you take good care of it to make sure it doesnt get infected

Absolutely not ok. Please don't do this to yourself. I have one friend who tried to do this and ended up really hurting herself, not getting a good piercing, and having to pay a lot of medical bills. In the long run it is much safer and cheaper to go to a professional. You just don't want to mess around with body piercings yourself.

I wouldn't advise it! The risk of infection could be greater. Give your mom some time, maybe she'll change. But doing it yourself is not good. For your own health and safety!
