Mostly, its the pious holier-than-thou attitude that bothers me the most.

No, I can't say it bothers me, but I do feel bad for those folk who make their questions clear, but misspell something. It has not happened to me (not that it couldn't). I ask others to re-state their questions when it is not a complete thought or requires me to guess at what they are really asking and risk giving a really poor answer to a really important question. If that makes me an attacker, I don't intend to be. The intent is to give the best possible answer to a person who really wants to know. Live and let live, dear. Some of us are cranky, and some of us are grieving. Some may have a loved one who has just made their world explode. I think a little less attack on both sides is in order sometimes.

Because many out there are childish ones expecting everyone else to cater to their little needs, and give them all their attention.
Since about 1982, there have been spell checkers out there to help the alphabetically challenged, so there's no excuse for writing crap with misspellings that totally screw up the meaning of the question. Yet you still get this garbage and then are offended when someone calls you on it.
Coddle to the dummies if you want, but half the people answer their own questions as they write them. Half would rather clutter the site with juvenile junk than submit it to google and get instant replies. Others are totally illogical. Some are totally insincere.

I think since we're online - horrible spelling, questions that don't make any sense at all, and rude responses are a lot like meeting someone in real life with raggedy clothes, messy hair, and a bit of a stink about them.
Honestly - I don't think it makes people look like they have a lot of respect for themselves or others when they can't "tidy up."
A lot of people come on here to try to help others or because they have serious questions, and get irritated that others don't see it that way.

I agree. I've been reported for submitting questions that were well within the Community Guidelines. Some people are just hateful. If I spot a spelling error, I try to let the person know in a gentle, kind way. (Or a goofy one - not insulting to them.)

Doesn't bother me. Lots of young people on here and also english isn't the first language of some. People need to chill and don't be rude about it.

I have not noticed this but I would like to think that perhaps these individuals are providing constructive criticism in hopes that it will aid the asker in the future.

The answers don't usually piss me off but some of the questions. I've read about beating your puppy and/or grandparent to bleaching ones anus.....it gets pretty disgusting.

After time, you learn to get more thick skinned about that. I'm pretty adamant about checking my own spelling. Just let it go. It's not worth the grief.

Some people like to knit pick at everything. I agree with you. The language police are very annoying.
