Man, insects, fungii, drought, tonadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes. extraordinary cold or heat., some animals.Rabbits, moose and deer will ring the bark on a tree and kill it. Bears sharpen their claws on the bark and damage it. Only a few that I can think of right now.

MAN and his D... Greed, esp developers cutting trees to build houses that all look the same into which people move then jamming our roads with cars and then all complain about the congestion. Leave the trees---Clean the Air,help give us rain, give us shelter/shade from the sun, provide homes for the small animals-----Would rather have trees and No People-at least not anymore-have enough, Miss My trees.

When I lived back East I was told that woodpeckers posed a problem for trees.

In New Mexico the bark beetle has decimated acres of pinon trees.

The biggest and most constant enemy is man himself.

Forgot to add--vines that creep up the trunk--it eventually kills the entire tree.

pollution , mistletoe, a repealing of the laws forbidding hemp farming could allow hemp products to replace a large percentage of building materials made from wood and paper also.

I've also seen vines kill a tree. Just by engulfing it, lack of sunlight contributes to it's death.
