I'm looking into moving to Texas, Mississippi, or N. Carolina from Kentucky. I would like some insight into which of these states--or any other Southern state, if you so choose to mention--you would recommend, as well as not recommend. I would like some insight into the economy, educational system, natural beauty, attractions, recreational opportunities, and people of each of these states.

From my preliminary opinion, it seems like TX has the friendliest people, w/ KY being least friendly. Meanwhile, TX and NC have a burgeoning economy, KY is decent but stagnant, and MS is trying to jump-start itself again after Hurricane Katrina.

Anyway, thanks!

Oh, ALL of these states are very, very beautiful. I guess NC is the prettiest, but all of these states have something to cherish.

Please, I'm not trying to make it sound like I've already made up my mind, so no smart alec answers pertaining to that, please. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked this question.

I don't remember anyone else asking this same question. If they did, I guess it's irony. Oh well...

Well, do you work? You didn't say what you would be doing... That seems like the most important point.

I would tell you if it doesn't matter, just move to a place on the coast. On the ocean. I have always thought that was the prettiest place to live.

As far as people, I think it depends on how YOU are, as to how the people are. I have lived in LOTS of places, and never run into anybody I actually could not get along with.

If you smile and are friendly and nice, the majority of people all over the nation will be just like that to you.

If you go around with a chip on your shoulder, it won't matter where you go, cause they will be just as mean as you!

Come to Texas! Houston is the best city. Home of the Astros, beautiful city at night and in the day, friendliest people around, good schools, and all the neighboring towns are fantastic. And plus, gas is only $2.34 here right now.

I, love N. Carolina, find the people their very friendly, and has beautiful scenery. I have spent some time on the reservation there and was treated very well.

Texas, because that's where George Dubya is from and you might run into him while you're living there.
