Check your start up program, type msconfig on run at start menu.
Disable the program that you dont want to start, Quick time, gammaloader etc..(except anti virus).

If you are using ATI graphic card, dont install the ATI CATALYST CONTROL CENTER. Just install the driver. COntrol center makes computer really slow to boot..!

If still slow, and you're using 2 piece ram 256, try remove one of them. And boot it again.

If still slow, there might be a virus on your computer.

If there is nothing wrong with the Ram the problem is in startup.

You have to remove unnecessary prgrammes & services from startup.Do the following -
start > Run > msconfig > enter. Uncheck the unnecessary programmes from "startup" & services from "services".

Also delete the temporary internet files.

Check for virus & trojans.

If you are not computer savy find some one for the job.

Well, could be lots of things. First, try not loading the programs in your startup folder. It's nice to just boot and work but you may be loading 4 or 5 programs and only using 1 at a time.

Make sure you are virus & spyware free. Run cleanup & defrag.

Good Luck
