I have a question about that whole fighting issue. I am curious as to why it is okay to see sports with men and women fighting and physically hurting eachother to the point of permanent disfigurement or paralysing but yet when it comes to animals, people through up the red flag? Sports such as mixed martial arts, boxing, american football, rugby, etc. promote hitting harder and faster. In fact, many of those trained for these sports are trained with the mentality that YOU WANT TO injure the competitor and disable them as soon and as hard as possible. However, things such as cock fighting or dog fighting or scorpion fighting or bull fighting is seen as immoral. Whats your take on it?

I'm not sure where I stand on the whole animal fighting thing because I know that animals fight on a regular basis in the wild. What is done as "sport" seems the same to me as a stadium full of people cheering for a human being to be injured and disabled all for "sport"

To be honest we are no different than the animal world we all live in. Look at the many who are behind bars and tell me who are the animals. Unfortunatly what ever the sport, humans will play and watch because we in general are a blood thirsty lot. whether we admit to it or not.

I am serious: You should not wrestle lions. It does not matter how strong or experienced you are, the lion is stronger and better equipped than you are. Humans sacrificed so much physical strength to walking upright and having a big brain, we are puny compared to practically any animal in our weight class. The skeletomuscular structure of a quadruped, especially a predator, has a much higher 'yield' as regards strength... and that is even disregarding a lion's teeth and claws. Don't compare it to crocodile wrestling, because crocodiles are strong, but they are far less nimble and they tire very quickly. Lions... don't. Put it differently: To any man, you might be a mighty gladiator - but to a lion, you're a prey item. So, in short, DON'T. edit: "ok you all have very valid points, but what if i were to work with a trainer and live liek an animal?" It would increase your chances of survival, but if your goal is to literally wrestle a lion into submission, forget it. It's just not going to happen. Put it this way: Have you ever heard of anyone wrestling a lion? Humans are, pound for pound, the weakest primates by far. A chimpanzee of half your weight is more than twice as strong as you. The chimpanzee, however, would not dream of taking on a lion. "do you think major networks like cbs and nbc would be interested in fiming a reality show similar to the conteder series?" Not if they are going to have to film a man being torn to shreds by a lion, no.

the men ans women that are in the fighting business make a choice to be in it, and do so knowing what may happen to them.
and they can quit when they want to.
humans (usually) do not get killed in sport fighting.

after you have turned a dog into a fighting dog, he will either die fighting or be put down when he can no longer fight.

the same with a fighting bird,

and they have no choice in the matter.

i am against animal fighting.

but all for human fighting,

The difference is that man or woman makes a choice to fight or not fight. Animals don't have a choice they are subjected to mans will and design. They have no choice that's what makes it wrong.

well i feel its personally the view, betting on the outcome is not what i consider sport, if animals face off in the wild thats their world, they shouldnt be forced into it...as for men vs women,, never would care to watch that..

I agree. It makes no sense at all and it makes for a more violent nation, neighborhood and people. It should be stopped.
