why arnt my text messages working?

ok i ahve a cingular razr, and i cant send or reccieve text messages... i know that it is not disabled from my account, and when i send a text message, no error thing comes up. many people try sending me text messages, and i dont get them... i got my phone a couple of weeks ago... help????

Ok here is a serious answer!
I have Cingular razr.
I have been having the same exact problem.
I called the company and these are the tips/steps they gave me. It works just takes time. However, it will work.

Step by Step: (be sure to do them all)
Turn off the phone
Take out the Battery and SIM card
Leave it like this for 5 minutes
Put the Battery back in after 5 minutes NO SIM CARD
Turn the phone on
When it powers up and says Insert SIM - pull the battery out
Put the SIM card in and the battery
Turn the phone back on
Let it sit for 2 minutes.
Then Turn the phone back off for 5 more minutes.
After the 5 minutes, turn it back on.
Go to your text messages
Send a message saying: TEST
and send it to your cell number
See if you get it - if you get it the phone is now working again
If you dont get it, turn your phone off for another 5 minutes, then back on.
Keep trying this and all these steps and within in around 15-20 minutes ( a long time I know ) it will be 100% corrected.

Simple .. stop by ANY Cingular outlet (they are on every other block) and have Them solve your particular problem ... Better than having us guess!!! Happy Texting (send me one when you fix it)

make sure text messaging is enabled or allowed on your phone in your menu, i know mine i can disable and turn features on. if there is no error messages that would be my guess

make sure you put the area code and the number when you send it exmple:734-621-4732
