I'm trying to clean out my Harley Davidson's gas tanks so that I can ship them, but they still have a strong gas odor to them. Does anyone know a way I can clean the tanks that will remove the odor without ruining the tanks?

Dump a cup of kerosene in the tank, swirl it around a bit, then dump it out. Kerosene will suck up the gas smell and leave your tank smelling odorless.

Gas evaporates. Let the tank sit outside with the cap(s) off.

Fresh coffee grounds.

Get's rid of any kind of odor.

I've seen it used in cars where a dead body rotted inside the car. The insurance company paid off on the car, but the shop that bought it put coffee grounds on newspapers on every horizontal surface in the car and left it for a month.

Smell gone!

Throw a lit match into the tank. The smoke from the match going out will kill the gas smell. You too.
