Man there were so many. "Midway.", " TORA!!! TORA!!! TORA!!!." "The Sands of Iwo Jima" - John Wayne. REcently there was one called Wind Talkers about the Navajo Indians and the South Pacific. The life of General Dougals McArthur starring Gregory Peck in "McArthur". John Wayne again in "In Harm's Way" which was about the Battle of the Coral Sea.

"Tora, Tora, Tora." The definitive movie about the attack on Pearl Harbor.
"MacArthur." This film starred Gregory Peck and was made in the late '70s, I think.
"Sands of Iwo Jima." John Wayne at his best.
"Midway." Star-studded cast, another one from the '70s.

Darwin was bombed in February 1942, just a few days after the Fall of Singapore. Broome came under attack by Japanese fighters on March 3, 1942. From May 31 to June 8, 1942 Japanese midget subs entered Sydney Harbor in order to attempt to sink Allied warships there. They attempted to sink the USS Chicago and did manage to sink the HMAS Kuttabul, resulting in the deaths of 21 Austrailan and British sailors. Meanwhile the five fleet subs acting as mother subs to the midgets attacked shipping off the coast of Austrailia and on June 8th two of them (the I-21 and I-24) shelled Sydney and Newcastle using their deck guns.

The Great Raid.. its about 1 of the most seccessful rescue missions in WW2 but not many people heard of the story...

If ur really looking for history then u shouldnt watch Pearl Harbor... they got so many things wrong in that movie.. pretty much the only thing they got right was the attack scene... but they even managed to screw that up alil.
