Well, he is probably abusing her....isnt that ironic. That or she has said things to him about you that makes him feel he must be saying or doing something to protect her from you. Since she is asking you to come and since he is being SOO over the top rude I'd go with the abuse. The whole isolation from family thing. Ironic in that you ask earlier how abuse in this country still exists.......well.....this is how. Now what can we REALLY do about it? It's much easier said then done to leave. MUCH easier said than done. By the way......I am NOT being sarcastic. This is an honest answer so keep your eyes and ears open as a mother and stay in close contact with her so she DOESN'T feel she is alone and has no where to go.

Tell the daughter you love her and if she ever want to leave this loser, you will pick her up at the local women's shelter where she lives. Also tell her you will not visit if this is what can be expected as you have more respect for yourself than to subject yourself to this behavior. Also remind her this jerk was her choice, not yours, and you do not have to put up with this. Tell her you may contact children's services. Or do contact children's services. Walk away from this creep . He is likely dangerous if he feels comfortable enough to say things like this to you on a first meeting.

Either he is nuts(which may be a real possibility) or your daughter has said some very bad things about you and he was reacting to what he thought was true. Sit down with the nut job and find out what the cause is.

Wow. This is a tough one. I'd be confused too! Did your daughter witness this? Was she okay with it, or did she try to stop him?
Assuming your relationship with your daughter is otherwise okay, so it isn't likely she's been telling the guy stories, I'd start wondering if he's a nut or an abuser. I'd also be very concerned about the welfare of my daughter and grandbaby. If he's willing to publicly call you foul names, what is he willing to do to people who are helpless when he's alone with them?

first file charges on him for verbal assualt ..next ask your daughter what he was speaking about, next have the local authorities to issue a temperary restraining order so you can question your daughter and see your grand baby in peace, if he might be treating your daughter the same way, then you can safley have her talked into leaving with you just in case, until a court can settle the matter

Take you daughter back to Ohio, if he spoke to you like that just imagine how badly he must be treating your daughter and how he will treat your grandchild. Do it today and don't take no for an answer. Best wishes.
