the saying:

When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change

I know that you can look at things differently, but in what way exactly do those things change that you're looking at?

examples welcomed!

when you look at things differently you perspective changes. for example when you look at a run down house you can see an eyesore or you can see the potential of a nice little cottage. basicly just be positive in the way you view the world, and you will find more flowers than weeds

When you think about things differently, you may see something you were missing before. For example, take a house built into the side of the hill. From the front, it may look like a regular house, but if you go around to the back, you will see that it has no backyard and doesn't look the same as it does from the front.. It's the same with life if you walk around a problem and look at it in a different way you will see something different.

Your perspective or your viewpoint changes. For example, you can look at a homeless person on the street and figure that they are a drug addicted or gambled and wasted their money and now they are poor and a menace to society. More than likely you will not donate to this person if they are asking for money

Or you can look at them as they lost their job because of lay-offs, they had a lot of bills to pay and couldn't keep up and lost their home and they are really in need of help, you will more likely be willing to donate to this person. So, by changing the way you saw this person, they went from a menace to society to a poor helpless person.
--Hope that helped.

How people see things is their reality. There is no 'true' reality because it is different for everyone, there can be no objective, undistorted, unbiased reality. So, if you change the way you look at things, your reality also changes, including everything in that reality. This get a bit complicated and I don't know if I explained it the right way, but I hope it helps.

It is a matter of perspective. To the guy who needed raw wood chips to make the first compressed wood fireplace logs, piles of sawdust and wood debris that mills paid to have hauled away became a great free resource. An empty lot might be an eyesore, or a great spot for a playground. What you see is determined by your attitude.

i had a conundrum recently...

two men were interested in me.
man no. 1: very good looking. nicely toned body, clean shaved, rich and great career.
man no. 2: average body, kinda flabby, hairy everywhere, no money and not sure what he wants in life.

like everyone else, i was more interested in the first. until i found that the other has more insight to give. more passion to live. he is kind and he treats me like a person. somehow, he became the most beautiful person ever and suddenly, the first guy didn't seem so gorgeous anymore...

peace unto you...

Perspective...one is half full and the other is half empty, how do you perceive that.
Positive and Negative attitude about life.

Turn your Frown upside down, always look on the bright side, Heck...I'm trying here....If your Life is a Lemon, make Lemonade.

Are you seeing this differently now.

Ok first of all you thinking about these things physically and not mentally. When you mentally change the way you look at things you must first explore this "thing" and become wiser . When yo become wiser you will understand why, when, and etc. This will cause you not to look at things differently but to understand things differently. Your knowledge of this "thing" will cause your mind to see things and know the underlying depths of this "thing".

Change the way we look,we will have other perspective and conclusion. You change with your eyes for seeing in front of you in right and left side and in the back is not the same. You see with a telescope you will see something is bigger or in the opposite is smaller. If you see with a dark spectacles you will see everything is dark/black and if you see with a bright spectacles you will find as it is..If you study something shallowly you do not know it well .You can conclude that is good. But if you analyse it srictly and wholely in depth you will know something in many aspects. and conclude that it has many shortcomings.

It kind of goes hand in hand with what Einstein said, Something like " you cannot solve a problem by being in the same frame of mind that caused it"

as a simple example, if being angry got you into trouble, staying angry most likely will not get you out of it
