age 12..

It was over 40 years ago and back then kids TRICK OR TREATED=

...late into the night for HOURS and came home with a big paper grocery bag brimming full of candy..

they didn't often have big candy bars like now as much so this shows the amount of houses we went to.

Great fun and once in a while something special would happen like come in and have donuts and cider (prerazor blade era) or ice cream cones.

Every and I mean every (49 out of 50) house participated and passed out treats.

Some time in high school. Then the town my college was in has a law against people of 14 trick or treating, so I obviously couldn't go. I still dress up for the holiday though. :)

I stopped when I was in 8th grade... but it's hard to find a safe place to trick or treat anymore anyways. Halloween was big in the 90's and now it's not nearly so important. I still love it though... and I wish that there were more trick-or-treaters to hand candy to where I live.

Free chocolate, costumes, and running the streets late on a school night? Why would I STOP? I'm 16 now and plan to increasingly conceal my age with various methods so I won't get "looks" (not like I DON'T in my everyday life, but I don't want Halloween to be tainted!

Oh, and towns with a trick-or-treating age limit- that's horrible. It's ridiculous how many of our rights can be taken away for stupid reasons. And think about it, people... are cops REALLY going to cruise your street checking under masks to see how old you are? I'd do it anyway. :)

13, my town use to have a cut off point when you can't go trick or treating and it was 13, a lot of people still fallow it but it was repealed along time ago like early 80's. You can tricker treat as long as you want to but when you have kids, you can start tricker treating the first year.

I hardly ever went. My parents tried to dress me up as a mouse but the church I was going to at the time used to tell me that people who celebrate halloween go to hell. So I cried really hard when they dressed me as a mouse. They told me it was okay, but I thought it was bad so I never did it until I finally could think for myself. When I was 12 I did it for the first time and had a blast but after that I looked kind of stupid going door to door because I wasn't a little kid anymore. I think it is stupid that some churches brainwash kids into thinking they are going to hell if they do something so innocent as go trick or treating.

I was able to stretch out my trick or tricking until I was in 10th grade because I took my little sisters out. One year not to long ago I took a friend's kid out for her because she was sick and I actually got more candy than she did and I didn't even ask.
