Do your best to eat at least three times a day. Now is not the time to be cutting calories. That doesn't mean eat junk. Make sure you eat enough calories and take vitamins. If you aren't hungry you may want to start drinking the supplement shakes for added calories and nutrients.

I would say as long as you are eating plenty then you should be okay. I am 17 weeks and I have only gained 4 3/4 pounds. Some doctors want you to gain the full amount allowed and some are a little more careful. And I know that I am eating plenty so I say that I am fine. You could just be one of those people that will hardly gain any weight, or your weight will come towards the end of your pregnancy. If it would make you feel better maybe you should get a second opinion.

I never really gained weight until around the 20 week mark with all three of my pregnancies. My mom was the same way.
Keep a food diary for a week or two. Write down everything you eat all day and what time and how much. See if you are eating something about every 2 hours all day. See if you are covering all the food groups.
Get some protein shakes or meal replacement shakes - stuff like Ensure or Carnation Instant Breakfast. DO NOT use these to replace meals. Instead, use them for snacks. LOTS of calories and nutrients! Mix them in the blender with ice cream for a high calorie shake! This helped me gain better.
All three of my babies were healthy and normal sized, by the way. I gained around 27 lbs with each of my three pregnancies. Baby #1 - boy - 7.bs 13 oz. Baby #2 - girl - 7 lbs 7 oz. Baby #3 - girl - 8 lbs.

make sure you are eating healthy... dont worry so much about the weight as long as you arent exhausted feeling all the time. the baby will really gain most of its weight in the last trimester.. you are just starting your second trimester and you should see some weight gain over the next few weeks due to the size of the baby and the size of your uterus.... doctors want you to gain like 30 lbs as this weight gain tends to produce the healthiest babies and have the lowest risk of damages should you fall and stuff like that... any more than 30 lbs is just weght you'll have to fight to loose... any less and the baby can have a low birth weight and the uterus is not as well padded, so there is less protection for the baby (or so they say)
some people gain very little weight while pregnant... just make sure you eat the right foods and dont deprive yourself...
as long as your baby is growing, things should be fine... you should be getting your ultrasound done now and this will confirm if baby is doing well or not... (ultrasounds are typically done between weeks 16-20... as long as baby is doing fine and you are eating then dont worry about the weight..

honestly, some women don't gain much weight at all. It is not necessarily a bad thing. Has the doc performed an ultersound to measure the baby? As long as you are eating healthy and taking your vitamins you should be fine. One thing though, are you getting enough carbs? breads and pastas are one way to gain weight and prenatal nutritionist do suggest that you double, (i believe) your breads and pasta intake. But if the baby is measuring well and you feel healthy, I wouldn't worry too much.

I gained a whole 14 lbs in my 3rd pregnancy. Most of which was in the 3rd of my pregnancy. Doc warned me to gain weight, but you can't make it happen. I delivered a health 7.8 lb baby girl, and was 1 lb. lighter then the first recorded weight when I had gotten pregnant. Just eat healthy and practice a good lifestyle.

i was told that you will lose weigth in the first couple of months into your pregnancy.around 3 months you will start to gain weight..for some they gain alot and for others is nomal weigth gain from pregnancy.your only half way there...i would say that your weigth gain will pick up...but its not unusual for some pregnant women not to gain alot of weight...so long as your baby is doing fine and everything seems good, dont worry...it will work out the way god has planed....good luck!!!

try food high in calories. also try nut butters, cashew butter, almond butter, ect. also if you can keep your food down try to eat several snacks a day. it will seem that you are eating all the time, but that is what i had to do just to keep my weight stable during this pregnancy. i have gained a total of 10 lbs and am due anytime. good luck
