Thank you for all of you for such great answers. My mother has a history of mental illness and has been admitted into the hospital again, and I was worried becasue they have my address but I didn't sign anything to be responsible. I am hoping to get her signed up for medicade somehow.

the correct question is , is your mothers estate responsible, and the answer is yes. if you inherit her estate then well yes lthough usually any moenies owed would be paid out prior to you getting her estate. And as to the placing an annoucement in a newspaper that your not responsibe for your mothers bills??? yeah ok so how about if i place an ad saying i not responsible for my bills?? will that work too?? talk about a simply weird answer.

Medican?? Isn't that a Spanish drink? Then hell yes, you are definitely responsible for her bar tabs, or her "medican bills" as you call it. I can't believe her; what a drunk. It sucks that you have to pay for those damned medican bills.
