If you just received the cut, I would use an antibiotic ointment and a bandage. The ointment prevents inflammation and infection and the bandage keeps it clean. As the wound heals, use a mixture of cocoa butter and pop the gelcap of a Vitamin E capsule and apply the gel to the wound. It helps to prevent scarring, in my case, or reduces the scar.

If the wound has already healed, cocoa butter may help in fading it just a little. I hear a lot about a new product called Mederma, but I haven't used it myself.

Keep in mind, however, that your ability to scar may have been predetermined by heredity, your diet, and your body's ability to heal itself. If the above methods fail to work, perhaps you could get more satisfactory results using a cover-up makeup.

Good luck to you...

I had laser surgery done to remove a scar on my chin. It wasn't covered by my insurance (most cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance) and it ran me about $400. It took a month to finally heal but it definitely worked, no more scar!

You can reduce the appearance of scars by going to the tanning bed. Worked great on my stretch marks, you can barely see them
