First and foremost, ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you. Then if you are down and having a hard time,pray for someone else. This always helps me.

You would pray for yourself, others and the whole wide world. First of all start your prayers off by praising and thanking God for all that he has done for you. Then confess your sins and start your prayer for others.

Ask God for blessings for yourself and others.
The object of prayer is not to change the will of God, but to secure blessings for yourself and others that God is already willing to grant, but are made conditional on you asking for them.
