They would just be too much of a fight otherwise?

TEHRAN (Agencies) - Iran exhibited its first locally manufactured fighter plane Wednesday during large-scale military exercises, AP said, quoting the Islamic Republic Broadcasting. The report said the bomber Saegheh is similar to the American F-18 fighter plane, but "more powerful." It also said the plane was "designed, optimized and improved by Iranian experts."

It said the Iranian air force had commissioned the Saegheh plane after many test flights in the past year.

Television footage showed the airplane taking off and launching two rockets. The plane had a small cockpit and only one pilot.

"Saegheh is capable of launching both rockets and bombs," the report said. General Karim Ghavami, commander of Iran's air force, told the television that the war games were being held "to show the trans-regional forces that we are ready to defend our country up to the latest drop of our blood."

I am not trying to sell the Iranian press as accurate nor would I say the US press is all that accurate but I do believe it is important to read the news of other nations and understand what they are saying - Nuking Iran is not out of the question given changes in laws and the prevailing attitudes twords Iran - Bush said when asked specifically about a nuclear strike on Iran that "all options were on the table" meaning it is possible- US law would now permit Bush to use a mini nuke on his authoirty without the Congress

Bush illegally and unconstitutionally invaded Iraq for two reasons: 1) He and his family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein from Desert Storm days, and 2) **** Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so he and his Exxon-Mobil buddies can get richer and richer and richer.
Bush will stupidly (and illegally) invade Iran for the very same reason: OIL. All he has to do is fabricate a plausible excuse that most gullible Americans (including members of the most evil, corrupt, incompetent U.S. Congress in history) will believe ("weapons of mass destruction" won't work a second time).
Bush will invade Iran within ten months (or less).
It's no wonder the rest of the world wants its own weapons of mass destruction to defend against the bully Bush and the world's newest 'evil empire' - the United States of America!
Just because Iran has built a new plane doesn't mean it's in any position to start a nuclear war.
Still, the Bush administration believes that any conflict can be settled with enough guns and ammo, and going to "war" keeps the military-industrial complex obscenely profitable.
Like most other leaders of most other nations, Bush is an idiot.
If anyone believes we have invaded Iraq (and will soon invade Iran) because we fervently want to bring democracy to those countries, I've got some oceanfront property I'd like to sell them in southern Nevada. -RKO-

No, he wants to nuke Iran for the oil. Who wants to bet that Halliburton shows up in radiation suits after the attack? Plus we have the F-22 Raptor which is light years ahead of any fighter that resembles an F-18 Hornet.

1) Bush would like to attack Iran...but no one's talking about nuking it.
2) I wouldn't believe much written by the Iranian government press.

I guess I don't see how your linking Iran to Bush wanting to nuke them? I don't ever remember our President saying that. Actually I think it's Iran that has said they want to wipe Israel off the map. Our president has said we won't tolerate them creating nukes and etc but when have we threatened to drop one on them?
