Well, yes and no. Some women still have bleeds every month during their entire pregnancy, but the flow is much less than your average 'period' and is not caused by the same things.
Many women get "implantation bleeding" which they confuse for a period, but it is not. It is just the embryo implanting itself into the uterine wall. This happened to me on my last pregnancy so I didn't even realize I was pregnant until I was nearly 2 months along!

My friend Deanna never missed a period or birthcontrol pill for nine months. Only gained five pounds and did not know she was pregnant until she went into labor. This was her second pregnancy. The babies head had crowned when she got to the emergency room. This was 12 years ago.

Technically no because what you think is your period is actually the egg implanting into your uterus, but it also varies on your own body, some people don't have bleeding or spotting and if they do it is usually very light and some people mistake this just for a light period when in fact it is the beginning of a pregnancy.

Hi
ok sometimes what you think may be your cycle is NOT your cycle. You think it is b/c it comes around the same time you expect your period.
This happend to me when I was pregnant with my twin boys! Don't panic. Start off with a pregnancy test and take it from there.
Good Luck to you.

Please go to www.babycenter.com. They explain why bleeding during pregnancy is not a period. People with no medical background or that have not done extensive research on this subject wrongly believe that women have periods during pregnancy. Bleeding during pregnancy can be a sign of problems with a pregnancy.
