At about twenty weeks, what would the fetus look like? I just don't want to be shocked.

It looks like a baby at that point!

Here's an illustration of the baby so you know what development has happened at that point:

As for what an ultrasound actually looks like, its a lot less clear unless you get a 3D or 4D ultrasound, but the basic shape will be the same as the illustration above.

Good luck!

It will look like a baby. Well what you will see will be like a skeleton baby. You'll have all the body parts arms, legs, toes, fingers, eyes, lips, nose, ears, etc. You'll see the spinal cord, heart, and bladder. They'll be able to see hair if your baby has any on its little head. They'll be able to tell you his/her weight, and of course the sex of the baby. It's a wonderful thing to see and experience, and in most hospitals you can tape the ultrasound now. So, take along a VHS. Hope you enjoy seeing your lil bundle of joy!! Good Luck!!!

Im 19 weeks and just had my level 2 ultrasound. The baby looks like a baby just much much smaller. Hands, feet, fingers, toes, a beating heart, developing brain hemospheres and movement... I loved every second of it!

The head will be larger and you will be able to see the outline of the spine pretty good, there will be nubs where the feet and hands are. The eyes will be black and almond-shaped but it is a really beautiful sight.

they should inform you if some thing incorrect and if the child became into laying on it backbone it may well be stressful for them to get the dimensions. i does not difficulty in any respect they simply want the measurements and infant became into laying a fashion they could no longer get it. in the event that they have been fairly in touch they might have made you return in for an in the previous appt for yet another u/s. Your sturdy hun their telling you the actuality they might get in a worldwide of hardship in the event that they lie to you.
