I have Windows XP. The kids were playing with the computer and now I have lost part of my desktop screen and it is black.
About 1/5 of the left hand side of my desktop (in the vertical) is black.
So, I have lost the right hand part of my screen, even on the internet.
Does anyone know what caused this and how to fix it?
Thanks.

It could be the monitor needs adjusting. Press the adjust button on the side or front of the monitor/screen. Click some of the buttons until you find the vertical adjustment. There are some plus (+) or minus (-) for adjusting the vertical to the right spot.

Good luck.

It sounds like they adjusted the settings on your monitor, not the computer.

There should be buttons on your monitor for moving the active screen content, resizing it, changing brightness, contrast, etc.

There should also be a way to reset everything to the default settings.
