What is MAOIs? Is This a Prescribed Drug?

It is a type of antidepressant. It's a tough one to take because it severely restricts other types of medications(prescription and over the counter) you can take. There are many newer, "safer" and user friendly anti depressants out there.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor is MAOI.

Mono Amine Oxidase Inhibitors

They are prescribed by doctors.

Moxie refers to the dietary restrictions that the older MAOIs are associated with. The newer MAOIs do not require such dietary restrictions, eg. moclobemide

They are, however, considered to be milder than the SSRI's and the other more commonly used antidepressants.

Yes, they are prescribed drugs- usually for depression. With these, you must avoid foods containing tyramine (aged cheeses, aged wines, organ meats).

m a o i, mono amine oxidase inhibitors. they are a type of prescribed drug. you hear them in commercials alot because they interact with other types of drugs. don't take a drug that says they interact with them until you consult your doc
